March “speakeasy” at Herbie’s Vintage 72

This month, we went underground in true speakeasy fashion and hosted our “speakeasy” event at Herbie’s Wine Cellar!  We had another great group of new and returning faces join us for a fun evening of networking.  Last month’s event at Cyrano’s was so successful at interaction that we had to come up with something to follow it.

We decided to quiz the attendees using James Lipton’s list from Inside the Actor’s Studio:

  1. What is your favorite word?
  2. What is your least favorite word?
  3. What turns you on?
  4. What turns you off?
  5. What sound or noise do you love?
  6. What sound or noise do you hate?
  7. What is your favorite curse word?
  8. What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?
  9. What profession would you not like to do?
  10. If heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the pearly gates?

Suffice it to say, we started quite a few lively conversations and our team had a lot of fun reading the answers.

Again, thanks to all who attended and helped make the evening a success!

…the Bug Store!

If you’ve ever went into a retailer’s and felt a little bit overwhelmed by all of the merchandise there, this place certainly gives the same feeling – but – in my book, that’s a good thing.

Looking up

With things for outside of your home, inside your home, and anywhere in between,
you’ll have more than a thing or two to fill up your arms with goodies.
You can choose from a small handful of every day items, or an even
bigger handful of those fun “unusual” items.

Fantastic linear floor lamp

Don’t forget – there’s always a great clearance sale going on on the upper level of the store!
There’s more than one level you ask? Why yes – there’s the first level, a higher platform (still on same level),
a second level, and a lower platform (still on second level). Their store layout is just as interesting as the items they sell!

I think I shall let the pictures speak for themselves. Enjoy!
Hopefully, you’ve found an exciting new place to feast your eyes on as well. : )

See ya next time!

super fun idea - get creative in what you fill the test tubes with

I love this outdoor wind sculpture - Pretty enough for inside, too!

Located in historic Kirkwood, it’s not too far from other exciting venues.
Take a day to explore and have fun! I’m sure you’ll find even more than I did (if that’s possible).  ; )

February “speakeasy” at Cyrano’s

Happy Mardi Gras!  Honestly, I think this “speakeasy” at Cyrano’s in Webster Groves was our best event yet and definitely the most interactive!!

When selecting the space for the February event which was one day after Valentine’s Day, we decided to embrace the upcoming Mardi Gras holiday instead because of the amazing French quarter inspired decor.  I got the idea to throw beads off the balcony and have attendees answer fun questions for beads in order to up the fun & mingling at our event. I ordered 720 beads and vowed not to take any home with me.  Well, the crowd of over 60 people really warmed to the event and began clamoring for beads.  By the time we started throwing them off the balcony, it really felt like a Mardi Gras parade!

Huge thanks to Cyrano’s for wonderful hospitality as well as our surprise vendor/raffle Jeanette with Material Girl for her pillow donation.  And also, thanks to all who attended and made this an event to top next month!
